Truck transport from Coimbatore to Chennai, Bengaluru, Kochi and Hyderabad: transit times and tips
Quick answer

From Coimbatore, a full truck typically reaches Kochi the same day (about 190 km), Bengaluru overnight (about 365 km), Chennai overnight (about 500 km) and Hyderabad in about 2 days (about 900 to 950 km). Times depend on loading, city entry rules and unloading slots. For these short routes, booking a day ahead and confirming the unloading slot matter more than the distance itself.

Key points
  • Kochi: about 190 km, same day.
  • Bengaluru and Hosur: about 330 to 365 km, overnight.
  • Chennai: about 500 km, overnight.
  • Hyderabad: about 900 to 950 km, about 2 days.

Coimbatore to Chennai

The Chennai route runs via Salem and Vellore. Much of the freight goes to the industrial belts around Sriperumbudur, Oragadam, Ambattur and the Chennai and Ennore ports. Trucks usually leave Coimbatore in the evening and arrive the next morning.

Tip: for export loads going to port, share the container cut-off time early. Port gates and CFS yards work on strict slots.

Coimbatore to Bengaluru and Hosur

The Bengaluru route runs via Salem and Krishnagiri. Hosur, just before Bengaluru, is a major auto component and engineering hub and one of the busiest destinations from Coimbatore.

Tip: Bengaluru city has restrictions on heavy truck entry during peak hours. Confirm the delivery window, or plan to unload at the city edge in industrial areas like Bommasandra, Peenya or Hoskote.

Coimbatore to Kochi

Kochi is the shortest of these routes, through the Palakkad gap. Freight to Kochi includes textiles, building materials, FMCG and export cargo for Kochi port.

Tip: Kerala gets heavy monsoon rain from June to September. Use containers or good double tarpaulins, especially for cartons and textiles.

Coimbatore to Hyderabad

Hyderabad is reached via Bengaluru and Kurnool on NH 44. It is a key destination for pharma, engineering and electrical goods, with industrial areas like Medchal, Patancheru and Shamshabad.

Tip: at around 900 to 950 km, this is a good route for a full truck even with medium loads, as the direct trip saves a day or more over a part load.

Which truck to choose for short routes

  • 14 to 19 ft trucks: for small and medium loads to Bengaluru, Hosur and Kochi.
  • 20 to 24 ft trucks: for medium factory loads and textiles.
  • 32 ft containers: for high-volume cartons and export loads to Chennai and Kochi ports.
  • Open multi-axle trucks: for heavy castings, steel and machinery.
